Many people are familiar with Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, or with his essays, like Mere Christianity or God in the Dock. Far fewer are aware of his science fiction, most notably The Cosmic Trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength, also published as The Space Trilogy in the U.S.) This is a shame, because these are strong and imaginative works. Lewis had an interest in science fiction and space exploration (as he seemed to have in virtually everything else) as can be seen in, for example, Of This and Other Worlds. – Greg Slade | ||
