Horror from a Christian perspective

Welcome to the Christian Horror section at Christian Fandom. This site is the nexus at which Christianity and the horror genre intersect. We're interested in horror with a Christian worldview; we're also interested in horror with identifiably Christian characters, works that deal strongly with Christian themes, and works that engage a Christian perspective of the supernatural. If it is dark, scary, uncanny, or macabre, and it involves Christianity, we want to discuss it on this site.

Christian Horror?

There are those who would consider Christian horror to be an oxymoron, but it most definitely is not. Any story using fear, dread, suspense, or the grotesque as a plot device or theme can be considered horror. This includes ghost stories, vampire stories, gothic stories, dark fantasy, weird tales, chillers, and thrillers. Believe it or not, there are explicitly Christian horror books and movies available: books and movies written by Christians, for Christians, with overtly Christian themes.

The Christian Horror section, like the rest of the genre sections at Christian Fandom, contains information, essays, links, and reviews. There are reviews of horror literature, reviews of horror films, and even a few horror stories. Not all of the books and movies reviewed on this site are written by Christians. However, we look at them from a Christian perspective.

Reviews of Audio material, including audiobooks, audio dramatizations, and music inspired by horror works.
Horror Stories written by Christian fans.
Essays about horror from a Christian perspective.
And finally, links that might be of interest to Christian horror fans.

All reviews will include warnings if the work reviewed contains significant objectionable material.
